The course includes analytical studies that examine the evolution of the relationship between making knowledge (technology) and making thought (ideology) at pivotal moments of transformation in production methods throughout history, from Antiquity to the present. This exploration is conducted through the lenses of the spirit of time (zeitgeist), spirit of place (genius loci), and the spirit of the individual.
In this context, the course incorporates:
A local environment analysis to develop awareness of the terminology used,
Period analyses to enhance understanding of the formation of spatial thought,
A spatial analysis to explore the layers of spatial perception (spatial image).

The course aims to develop an awareness that space, through its signs, is one of the most powerful communication tools conveying information about the culture and aesthetics of its context. In this regard, the course addresses: Civilization, defined as the accumulation of knowledge on how thinking and making are utilized, Culture, defined as an attitude toward how this accumulation is interpreted and given meaning. By engaging with these concepts, the course seeks to equip students with the ability to critically analyze the form-content (meaning) relationship in both their own designs and the broader design environment they operate within.
1. Develops an aesthetic understanding related to the ability to analyze space.
2. Cultivates a critical aesthetic perspective on the ability to interpret space.
3. Fosters a creative aesthetic vision regarding the ability to produce space.
4. Enhances awareness of the technical requirements necessary for improving communication and expression skills.
