Course Description
The Furniture Design course aims to provide students with an in-depth experience of the furniture design process from both theoretical and practical perspectives. This course, which is conducted in the same semester as the 3rd year studios after the first OEG semester, equips students with detailed technical knowledge, production processes and product development methodologies. Furniture design, as a fundamental element of interior design, plays a critical role in meeting the aesthetic, functional and ergonomic requirements of the space. In this context, it is aimed to develop students' design skills and equip them with innovative approaches in the industry.

Course Objectives
Furniture Design course includes the design methodologies and thinking systematics of a holistic product development process and aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge at every stage from conceptual thinking to technical details. In this process, students are presented with projects of different scales to solve given design problems. In this context, students learn to identify problems based on the main functions and values and then develop creative furniture. Students develop sustainable, functional and aesthetically innovative solutions by prioritizing user needs and experience in their original and innovative furniture.

Week 2: Student presentations + Persona Canvas presentation (HOMEWORK 1)
Week 3: Student presentations + Discussion of initial ideas on Design Canvas (HOMEWORK 2)
