Course Description
Academic program for students studying English language and literature İDEntity, home, nature, work, home, nature, work to build a foundation of skills, useful vocabulary and critical thinking skills, It adopts a thematic approach such as technology, global literatures.

Course Objectives
Advanced English Practices is a program designed to improve students' English skills for academic purposes andto raise the level of reading, writing and presentation assignments that students will encounter as university students. to introduce you to their species.
Course Outcomes
1. Students will learn all the steps of the process of writing an academic paper (including the close reading, developing arguments/theses, structuring arguments, summarizing and revising and editing).
2. Students will also learn to present and discuss their thoughts and ideas in academic ways. therefore class participation and discussion of ideas is also a priority.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction to Writing through Literature and Art
Week 2: How to write an essay: outlining/organizing and getting started: structure, thesis, rationale, evidence, discuss academic vocabulary
Week 3: Peer review, class discussion on potential strengths/weaknesses in writing
Week 4: Paragraph design/how to take notes/understanding/class reflection/organized writing
Week 5: Reading comprehension • Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Week 6: Midterm Exam
Week 7: Critical reading comprehension/analytical use of academic English; Academic presentations (lectures, how to take notes (speeches, oral presentations)
Week 8: Listening and Reading Comprehension, Analysis / Comprehension / Discussion (how to speak "academically")
Week 9: Putting it all together/writing an essay
Week 10: Ted Chiang's short story "The Great Silence"/ Comprehension/Class Discussion/Organizing notes
Week 11: Writing academic critical reflections
Week 12: Review of skills; Preparation for final exam
