This course, together with HLT 201 and HLT 202, introduces students to the development of English literature. and to provide them with an adequate background for the departmental elective courses they will take later on.
1. Recognize the major writers and works of English literature and analyze their historical, cultural and literary to situate them in their context
2. Make connections between different literary periods and movements
3. To have knowledge about the historical course and general characteristics of the English literary tradition
4. The ability to analyze literary works in relation to the literary movements and historical periods to which they belong
