Course Description
This course, in conjunction with İDE110 English Literature from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and İDE202 English Literature from the Victorian Age to the Present, introduces students to the historical development of English literature and its major turning points. provides a strong foundation in English literature. These three core courses cover specific genres, movements and genres in the English literary tradition. to understand the authors.

The Norton Anthology of English Literature, Volumes I & II
Course Objectives
This course is a detailed survey of English literature from the Restoration (1660) to the end of the Romantic Age (1830). aims to present an analysis of these periods. Students will learn the social, political, historical, philosophical and cultural characteristics of these periods, literary learn about genres and traditions. Read and analyze prominent works and learn about major authors. they get information.
Course Outcomes
1. Students will be able to recognize important writers and works of English literature and will be able to analyze their historical, cultural and literary situate them in their context
2. Students make connections between different literary periods and movements
3. Students will have knowledge about the historical course and general characteristics of the English literary tradition
4. Students gain the ability to analyze literary works in relation to the literary movements and historical periods to which they belong.
