Course Description
Providing fundamental drawing knowledge essential for developing quick sketching and presentation skills required in the design process.

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to enhance students' drawing and presentation skills, enabling them to understand how to design products through sketching.
Course Outcomes
1. Can express ideas in two and three dimensions in line with basic design and visual hierarchy principles.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction to the course – Why is sketching necessary? Explanation through definitions and examples. Introduction to drawing using square units.
Homework: Cola bottle sketch.

Week 2: Working with reference lines. Assignments to help students gain experience and express ideas through drawing.
Homework: A composition featuring two glasses made of different materials.

Week 3: Focus on line thickness and quality. Introduction to orthographic and isometric drawing as reference lines.
Homework: A composition featuring a utility knife and scissors.

Week 4: Introduction to perspective drawing using reference lines.
Homework: A composition featuring a plate, fork, and knife.

Week 5: Integration of all learned concepts—drawing using square, isometric, and perspective methods.
Homework: Shampoo bottle sketches.

Week 6: Emphasis on composition, paper usage, and visual storytelling through drawing.
Homework: Exam sketch assignment—perspective placement and proportions.

Week 7: Midterm Exam – Students will apply what they have learned to understand and illustrate a product. Assessment will focus on perspective and proportions.
Homework: Redraw the exam question.

Week 8: Practicing quick sketching and conveying a product with simple lines. Review of midterm results. Introduction to process visualization through sketches.
Homework: Illustration of an unboxing process.

Week 9: Discussion on the impact of line variations on design and thinking through sketches. Activities will align with basic design assignments.
Homework: Sketch-based explanation of a basic design assignment.

Week 10: Product visualization exercises—sketching to understand and communicate a product. Preparations for the basic design final project, including layout and presentation fundamentals.
Homework: Preparing a presentation board.

Week 11: Rapid sketching and product visualization exercises.
Homework: Presentation board explaining a steel tape measure.

Week 12: Preparation for final project sketches and general review.
Homework: Sketch practice for the final exam.
