Course Description
Basic Design Studio I is a course designed for students who want to learn the fundamentals of industrial design. This course aims to teach students creative thinking, problem-solving, and the essential stages of the design process.

Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of design, equipping them with knowledge and skills in key areas such as basic design concepts, design elements, visual thinking, translating ideas into two-dimensional representations, organization, composition, and abstraction. Students are encouraged to think beyond conventional patterns while solving fundamental design problems. Additionally, the course is supported by extracurricular activities to enhance students' awareness of "design in everyday life."
Course Outcomes
1. Can develop original ideas by identifying design problems; synthesize information with critical thinking skills and create innovative solution suggestions.
2. Can express ideas in two and three dimensions in line with basic design and visual hierarchy principles.
3. Can effectively carry out the entire project process by gaining the skills to plan, execute and manage design processes.

Week 1: Fundamental design elements and visual expression techniques.
Week 2: Perception exercises and visual awareness studies.
Week 3: Texture studies.
Week 4: Two-dimensional composition exercises.
Week 5: Abstraction studies.
