Course Description
This course serves as an introduction to the history of industrial design, covering the period from the origins of design to the Industrial Revolution. It examines the development of art and craft-based production processes in light of economic, technological, and social transformations. Students will learn how these processes were shaped by societal and cultural changes.

Course Objectives
The goal of the course is to help students understand the historical development of industrial design and critically assess the impact of social, cultural, and economic contexts on design. By gaining awareness of the evolution of design ideas throughout history, students will be able to approach contemporary design practices with a deeper perspective.
Course Outcomes
1. Can produce sustainable solutions that serve social benefit, considering social, cultural, economic, and environmental factors in design.
2. Understand and interpret the historical development of industrial design on both local and global scale with its artistic and cultural reasons.
