Course Description
Drawing I is a studio course in which students observe and perceive various objects, natural elements, and the human figure, reflecting their observations through drawings. In this course, after researching the elements that constitute drawing, students engage in studies on line, line value, placement, sketching, proportion and scale, perspective, positive-negative space, balance, and modeling. Emphasis is placed on students' understanding of drawing tools and materials, as well as the terminology of the drawing course. Additionally, a theoretical foundation related to drawing is established through various visual and written sources.

Course Objectives
The course aims to develop students' visual perception, drawing skills, artistic creativity, and talents through drawing exercises. To achieve this, students are encouraged to recognize the characteristics and aesthetic qualities of various objects and the human figure, integrating them into their work. Furthermore, the course aims to lay the groundwork for accurately identifying and interpreting objects, enabling students to apply these skills in their future design fields.
Course Outcomes
1. Draws objects using fundamental knowledge of line, form, proportion, and perspective through observation.
2. Identifies and accurately transfers the main outlines and details of objects to drawings through direct observation.
3. Depicts objects realistically using traditional techniques such as contour drawing, shading, and texture.
4. Expresses the structural characteristics of surrounding objects effectively using pencil and paper.
5. Transfers observed light and shadow relationships of objects onto paper with proper proportion and shading.
6. Applies perspective drawing techniques to accurately represent depth and spatial relationships.
7. Utilizes fundamental design principles to create harmony, balance, and rhythm in drawings.
8. Uses various drawing methods to uniquely interpret the main outlines and details of observed objects.
9. Integrates the form and structural characteristics of objects into drawings with accurate proportion and perspective.
10. Creates aesthetically composed observational drawings using traditional drawing techniques.
11. Reflects fundamental design elements (point, line, color, texture) in visual expressions during the drawing process.
12. Enhances visual storytelling skills by skillfully depicting the symbolic and structural features of objects through observation and drawing practice.
