Course Description
The Perception in Design course progresses through the fundamentals of perception and communication, focusing on the concept of culture. It examines the psychological and ideological dimensions of perception and introduces semiotics.

Course Objectives
Through the theories of semiotic scholars, students gain an understanding of how culture shapes all areas of communication.
Course Outcomes
1. Explains visual perception processes, Gestalt principles, and the main theorists who have shaped design psychology.
2. Interprets how the human eye and brain perceive visual stimuli within the context of design principles and aesthetic values.
3. Relates the effects of forms, colors, and visual symbols on human psychology within the context of universal culture.
4. Critically examines existing visual communication designs in terms of their success in guiding the target audience and their perceptual effects.
