Course Description
In this course, students will learn vector graphic design techniques, terminology, and methods through both theoretical and practical exercises in a digital environment. They will analyze and critique examples from Turkey and around the world, gaining knowledge about application areas in the field. The concept of design thinking will be explained in detail, covering the fundamental principles and elements of digital design, including basic shapes used in drawing, composition, light and shadow, color theory, and the differences between vector and pixel-based design.

Course Objectives
This course aims to equip students with vector graphic design skills by teaching terminology, techniques, and methods through both theoretical and practical applications in a digital environment. Students will analyze global and local examples, critique designs, and gain an understanding of application areas in the field. The course also focuses on design fundamentals, including composition, light and shadow, color theory, and the differences between vector and pixel-based design. By the end of the course, students will be able to create effective vector-based designs, applying fundamental digital design principles to their projects.

11. Explores various digital tools to ensure continuous development and innovative solutions in design processes.

Week 2: Idea Generation in Digital Design, Vector Graphic Design, and Art
Week 3: Fundamental Elements in Digital Design, Basic Shapes and Their Applications, and Basic Working Principles
Week 4: Vector Drawing Tools in Computer-Aided Design and Line Usage
Week 5: Midterm Exam I – Presentations
Week 6: Color Usage in Computer-Aided Design, Gradients, and Painting Techniques
Week 7: Typography in Computer-Aided Design / Midterm Exam II – Project Submissions
Week 8: Working with Vector and Bitmap-Based Effects in Computer-Aided Design
