Visual Communication Design
Learning problem-solving methods in communication design, including approaching design challenges, conducting research, defining problems, identifying target audiences, and developing and evaluating visual solutions. Creating cohesive and creative corporate identity design products tailored to the target audience while ensuring consistency in visual language. Developing effective visuals and slogans to create a campaign for a brand or institution.

This course covers fundamental design elements, helping students acquire the necessary terminology and practical knowledge related to design principles. Through projects involving logo, emblem, pictogram, and corporate identity design, students will apply their knowledge and develop efficient and foundational design projects.
1. Effectively uses the digital design software, basic tools, and techniques required during the production stages of studio projects.
2. Transforms abstract ideas and data related to given design problems into original concrete concepts through the creative thinking process.
3. Transforms the creative concepts developed into effective visual expressions by using graphic, typographic, and illustrative elements.
4. Constructs projects by considering functional requirements that will reach the target audience together with aesthetic values such as visual composition.
5. Plans the studio project from the sketching stage to the final presentation through problem-solving skills and manages the process in a disciplined manner.

WEEK 1
LESSON 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE CORPORATE IDENTITY PROJECT
Visual concept research on corporate identity. Determining a non-existing professional field, association, foundation, company, or sole proprietorship for which a corporate identity design will be created.
ASSIGNMENT: Brief creation process
WEEK 2
LESSON 2: LOGO / LOGOTYPE / SLOGAN CREATION PROCESS
Sketching process for logo/logotype designs: at least 3 different alternatives
Slogan creation process: at least 3 different alternatives
WEEK 3
LESSON 3: LOGO / LOGOTYPE / SLOGAN CREATION PROCESS
Finalization of logo/logotype designs and clarification of the slogan
WEEK 4
LESSON 4: CORPORATE IDENTITY PRODUCT DESIGN CREATION PROCESS
Design process for identity cards and visitor cards
WEEK 5
LESSON 5: CORPORATE MASCOT DESIGN
Creation of a mascot design for the selected corporate identity and sketch critique process
