Understanding and recognizing the concept of a portfolio.

Course Objectives
This course aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to prepare both print and digital publishing materials. Students will learn about printing techniques, paper characteristics, and digital page specifications, as well as the process of preparing materials for print production. The course focuses on ensuring that students gain technical expertise in designing and producing professionally formatted publishing products.
Course Outcomes
1. Applies the software and production techniques required for résumé design, digital portfolio interfaces, and physical print preparations.
2. Plans the portfolio process by identifying the target audience and develops a professional presentation strategy.
3. Critically evaluates previous design projects and selects and compiles works that are appropriate for the portfolio identity.
4. Presents the selected works by transforming them into physical and digital portfolio documents within the framework of a holistic personal identity.
Tentative Course Plan

WEEK 1:

General information about the course is shared with the students.
Preliminary information is provided about the general structure and flow of the course.

WEEK 2:

Information about portfolios. Explanation of general expectations.
A presentation on the subject is delivered. Students are asked to prepare presentations.

WEEK 3:

Examination of different types of presentation techniques.
Students compile their works.

WEEK 4:

Students decide on their own presentation techniques.

WEEK 5:

Review of students’ sketches and draft works, followed by necessary revisions.

WEEK 6 – MIDTERM PRESENTATION 1:

Review of students’ sketches and draft works, followed by necessary revisions.

WEEK 7:

Review of students’ sketches and draft works, followed by necessary revisions.

WEEK 8:

The sketched and drafted works begin to be created in the digital environment using the necessary software.

WEEK 9 – MIDTERM PRESENTATION 2:

Evaluation of students’ works and continuation of the working process.

WEEK 10:

Evaluation of students’ works and continuation of the working process.

WEEK 11:

Evaluation of students’ works and continuation of the working process.

WEEK 12 – FINAL PROJECT SUBMISSION:

Students submit their works.
