Course Description
This course provides a theoretical foundation for the concept of ethics by distinguishing ethics from morality, analyzing various ethical approaches, and exploring professional ethics through case studies and ethical codes. The course builds a critical understanding of communication ethics, covering topics such as media ethics, new media ethics, and their applications in film, social media, journalism, news, and advertising.

Course Objectives
The course aims to develop professional awareness and ethical sensitivity among students in the field of communication. By providing a strong theoretical foundation, students will be better equipped to navigate ethical challenges in their careers and make informed decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas in professional practice.
Course Outcomes
1. Recognizes and explains fundamental theories, concepts, and key theorists in the fields of communication and ethics.
2. Evaluates national and international ethical rules, standards, and legal regulations in the context of communication practices.
3. Analyzes the application of ethical principles in communication processes through theoretical approaches and case studies.
4. Critically interprets the relationship between media ethics and communication theories in light of societal impacts.
5. Assesses the ethical responsibilities of communication tools and strategies within a theoretical framework and contemporary debates.
6. Follows current discussions on communication and media ethics and comparatively analyzes different perspectives.
7. Discusses the ethical dimensions of symbolic and visual elements used in communication within the framework of universal values.
8. Examines and interprets key concepts in communication ethics through comparative theoretical approaches.
9. Evaluates the social responsibilities and ethical obligations of the media in light of. theoretical knowledge.
10. Theoretically explores the historical development and contemporary applications of communication and ethics concepts
11. Identifies ethical issues in communication and develops solutions through academic texts, case studies, and the analysis of institutional ethical codes.
12. Effectively expresses acquired theoretical knowledge through written and oral presentations and discussions, gaining an in-depth understanding of the relationship between communication and ethics.
