Course Description
This course examines the basic concepts of zoning law, the legal framework of zoning planning and zoning practices. Within the scope of the course, construction and approval processes of zoning plans, implementation of zoning plans, expropriation, land regulations, building permits and sanctions of structures contrary to zoning law will be discussed.

Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students the basic principles of zoning law, to help them understand the legal dimensions of planning processes and to help them master the zoning legislation. In this direction, it is aimed that students will gain the competence to evaluate the process from the preparation of zoning plans to their implementation from a legal perspective.
Course Outcomes
1. Has a command of the basic concepts and legal bases of zoning law.
2. Has a command of zoning planning processes in Turkey and distinguishes planning types.
3. Has knowledge of the construction, approval and amendment processes of zoning plans.
4. Explains the principles and legal nature of zoning plans.
5. Has knowledge about the legal aspects of zoning applications such as expropriation, subdivision and unification.
6. Explains building license and occupancy permit processes and related legal regulations.
7. Has knowledge about the legal consequences of structures contrary to zoning law and the sanctions that can be applied.
8. To have knowledge about the legal basis and application principles of zoning fines.

Week 4: Authority in Zoning Planning
Week 5: Zoning Plans, Making, Approval, Announcement and Legal Consequences
Week 6: Amendment, Revision and Addition to Zoning Plans
Week 7: Legal Nature of Zoning Plans and Principles Dominating Zoning Plans, Implementation of Zoning Plans
Week 8: Week Application of Expropriation Procedure in Zoning Law
Week 9: Zoning Law in Zoning Law
Week 10 Land and Land Regulation
Week 11: Building License and Occupancy Permit, Structures Contrary to Zoning Law and Sanctions Applied to These Structures
