The Inheritance Law course equips students with the ability to legally assess the legal relationships that arise upon the death of a decedent. In addition to fundamental concepts such as estate, decedent, and heir, the course also examines legal heirs and heirs with reserved portions. Particular emphasis is placed on the differences between mortis causa dispositions and inter vivos transactions, as well as the formal and substantive aspects of mortis causa dispositions. The course further explores the grounds for annulment of mortis causa dispositions, reduction actions (tenkis davaları) in cases of reserved portion violations, and the limitations on testamentary freedom. Finally, the transfer, acquisition, and distribution of inheritance are also key topics covered within the course.
