This course examines the fundamental principles of international investment law, investment protection standards, and dispute resolution mechanisms. It aims to provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge by analyzing investment agreements, arbitration processes, and states' regulatory authority. Special focus is given to ICSID and other international arbitration mechanisms, with an emphasis on investor-state disputes.

This course aims to teach students the fundamental principles of international investment law and investment agreements. It also enables them to analyze investment dispute resolution mechanisms, particularly international arbitration processes. Additionally, it develops their ability to evaluate the balance between state regulatory authority and investor rights.
1. Has a comprehensive understanding of the functioning of the international investment system.
2. Masters fundamental concepts related to investment law.
3. Can interpret international agreements aimed at protecting investments and utilize these agreements in case of investment disputes.
4. Has a deep understanding of Turkish legislation regarding investment protection.
5. Masters standards for investor protection and the ability to apply them in specific disputes.
6. Recognizes the necessity of balancing the state's regulatory authority and the rights of investors in investment disputes.
7. Acknowledges the importance of arbitration in resolving investment disputes.
8. Has a solid understanding of the general features of ICSID, an arbitration center specialized in resolving investment disputes, and is capable of evaluating both the positive and negative aspects of ICSID arbitration.
