Course Description
The course involves the transfer of professional knowledge in architectural design and production processes and aims to develop the ability to design in accordance with regulations.

Course Objectives
Understanding the workflow of architectural practice processes and acquiring the skill to design in accordance with regulations.
Course Outcomes
1. Gaining experience in the architectural project procurement process from start to finish.
2. Learning the coordination with authorities and document acquisition processes in professional practice.
3. Acquiring the skill to design in compliance with earthquake regulations.
4. Acquiring the skill to design in compliance with fire regulations.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction. Overview of course content and workflow.
Week 2: Classification of Buildings. Material seminar 1: Reinforced concrete site applications.
Week 3: Material seminar 2: Steel.
Week 4: Zoning status and plan notes (if any). Application plan drawing. Plan levels 1:50, 1:100. Final/concept/application/tender. Project definitions.

Week 6: Presentation of analyses. Seminar: Volkan Sipahioglu (ARC Architecture).
Week 7: Presentation of analyses. Seminar: Fatih Serdar Gokbulak (FSG Architecture).
Week 8: Presentation of design scenario (client vs). Program (bubble diagram).
Week 9: Physical environment and site plan. Building energy performance regulations. Earthquake regulations seminar.
Week 10: Design review. Sections, skeleton. Fire regulations.
Week 11: Design. Architect-client relationship (contract, etc.). Legal rights and responsibilities. Professional ethics.
Week 12: Final critiques and submissions.
