Course Description
After briefly explaining the political and social situation of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam, the emergence of Islam and the political, social and economic situation of the period of Hz. Muhammad are evaluated, and the understanding of administration in Islam and the Institution of Caliphate are taken as basis, and the political, social and institutional structure (judicial, land, administrative) of the periods of Hz. Abu Bakr, Hz. Omar, Hz. Osman and Hz. Ali are taught.

Course Objectives
1) Learning the main lines of Islamic history from its beginning to the end of the period of the four caliphs 2) Understanding the emergence and development of the Islamic religion and civilization within a historical framework 3) Learning to approach the main problems of early Islamic history from different perspectives
Course Outcomes
1. Necessary knowledge base about Islamic history
2. Evaluating the sources of early Islamic history in an analytical and critical framework
3. Evaluating the changes that Islam brought about in the Arabian Peninsula and the world
4. Evaluating the civil war among the first Muslims in a historical context
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction, introduction to the course
Week 2: Religious, political, economic and cultural structure of pre-Islamic Arab society
Week 3: Sources of early Islamic history
Week 4: Birth of the Prophet Muhammad and Mecca until the Prophethood
Week 5: Meccan period of the Prophethood
Week 6: Midterm Exam
Week 7: Medinan period of the Prophethood
Week 8: "Death of the Prophet Muhammad and the message of Islam Presentations"
Week 9: "Period of Hz. Abu Bakr Presentations"
Week 10: "Period of Hz. Omar Presentations"
Week 11: "Period of Hz. Osman Presentations"
Week 12: "Period of Hz. Ali Presentations"
