Course Description
After examining the governance of the Middle East geography during the Ottoman period and the historical transformation of political structures in different countries, the processes of becoming a colony will be examined. After the independence movements and decolonization process that occurred after World Wars I and II are processed, the political history of various countries in the geography extending from Morocco to Iran will be evaluated in relation to each other and analyzed within the perspective of diplomatic history. Nationalist movements in this process, the Arab-Israeli wars and the impact of oil on these conflicts are among the topics to be discussed.

Course Objectives
To examine the historical transformation of the Middle Eastern geography's governance and political structures in different countries since the Ottoman period, and the processes of their becoming colonies and the period afterwards.
