Turkish Language and Literature Undergraduate Program
In this course, early Ottoman manuscripts will be read. The language and spelling features of Old Anatolian Turkish will be shown. In addition, students will be informed about the cultural life of the period with the help of these texts. The literary features of text types will be examined by conducting language and style studies on different types of texts in Ottoman Turkish.

As a continuation of the basic level of Ottoman Turkish literacy acquired in previous Ottoman Turkish courses, Arabic and Persian grammar rules and structures will be covered, and reading and writing exercises will be done every week.
1. Can read and write printed texts at an advanced level.
2. Learns Arabic and Persian grammatical structures at intermediate and advanced levels.
3. Improves vocabulary.
Week 1: Introduction to the course and responsibilities.
Week 2: Word structure in Arabic: word patterns and plural category.
Week 3: Word structure in Arabic: mücerred infinitive, ism-i fail, ism-i mef'ul.
Week 4: Word structure in Arabic: Mezidünfih infinitive.
Week 5: Word structure in Arabic: sıfat-ı müşebbehe, ism-i tafdil and others.
Week 6: Persian word structure: nouns, adjectives.
Week 7: Persian verbs, compound words. Week 8: Persian word groups: nouns and adjectives.
Week 9: Arabic word groups: noun and adjective phrases, prepositions.
Week 10: Persian arrangement and use of compound words in Turkish syntax.
Week 11: Arabic word patterns, transcription.
Week 12: Text readings.
