Course Description
In this course, the place and development of Old Anatolian Turkish among historical Turkish languages will be discussed; the first Turkish works in Anatolia will be examined in terms of language features, phonetics, morphology and syntax, and reading, transcription and comprehension studies will be carried out on various manuscripts belonging to that period.

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to teach the characteristics of the Old Anatolian Turkish period, its place in historical development and to ensure the reading of texts related to Old Anatolian Turkish.
Course Outcomes
1. Learns the sound, form and syntax of Old Anatolian Turkish.
2. Learns the works of Old Anatolian Turkish.
3. Conducts reading and translation studies on Old Anatolian Turkish texts.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Introduction to the course, stating responsibilities.
Week 2: Providing information about the historical periods of the Turkish language and the place of Old Anatolian Turkish in historical periods.
Week 3: General characteristics of the Old Anatolian Turkish period.
Week 4: Spelling and phonetics of the Old Anatolian Turkish period.
Week 5: Morphology of Old Anatolian Turkish.
Week 6: Works of the Old Anatolian Turkish period and their authors.
Week 7: Academic studies on texts of the Old Anatolian Turkish period.
Week 8: Reading, transcription and translation studies on Old Anatolian Turkish texts
Week 9: Reading, transcription and translation studies on Old Anatolian Turkish texts
Week 10: Reading, transcription and translation studies on Old Anatolian Turkish texts
Week 11: Reading, transcription and translation studies on Old Anatolian Turkish texts.
Week 12: General evaluation of the course.
