Course Description
In this course, historical and social events, institutions, intellectual movements of the National Literature period, characteristic figures of these periods and their works will be introduced; poems selected from these works will be analyzed.

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce Turkish poetry that developed within the framework of National Literature and to ensure the examination of poems that reflect the mentality of the period.
Course Outcomes
1. Recognizes the poetry movements, poets and works of the national literature period.
2. Learns to read and analyze important works of this period.

Week 1: Evaluation of the political and literary conditions in which national literature emerged
Week 2: General characteristics of national literature
Week 3: Discussion of Genç Kalemler magazine
Week 4: Analysis of Ziya Gökalp and selected poems
Week 5: Analysis of Mehmet Emin Yurdakul and selected poems
Week 6: Analysis of Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel and selected poems
Week 7: Analysis of Yusuf Ziya Ortaç and selected poems
Week 8: Analysis of Halit Fahri Ozansoy and selected poems
Week 9: Analysis of Orhan Seyfi Orhon and selected poems
Week 10: Analysis of Enis Behiç Koryürek and selected poems
