Course Description
In this course, historical and social events, institutions, intellectual movements, characteristic figures of this period and their works in the National Literature period will be introduced; textual analyses will be made on examples from these works.

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to get to know the novelists and storytellers included in the National Literature period and to analyze the novels and stories written in this period.
Course Outcomes
1. Recognizes the novelists and storytellers of the national literature period and their works.
2. Learns to read and analyze important works of this period.

Week 1: Introduction to the course and general information about the course.
Week 2: General information about the National Literature period, conditions that prepared national literature.
Week 3: Novelists of the National Literature period.
Week 4: Halide Edip Adıvar, Yeni Turan.
Week 5: Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu, Yaban.
Week 6: Reşat Nuri Güntekin, Yeşil Gece.
Week 7: Müfide Ferit Tek, Pervaneler.
Week 8: Story in the National Literature period.
Week 9: Characteristics of Guy de Maupassant style of storytelling.
Week 10: Ömer Seyfettin's storytelling.
Week 11: Refik Halid Karay
Week 12: General evaluation.
