Turkish Language and Literature Undergraduate Program

In this course, the understanding of the poem, the story and the novel that developed from the 19th century to the 20th century will be examined; the characteristics of the poem, the novel and the story genres and their development within the scope of Turkish Literature will be discussed in comparison with Western literature.

The aim of this course is to examine the poems written in the Tanzimat, Servet-i Fünun and Fecr-i Ati periods within the conditions of the period.

1. Studies the development of the concept of the short story and the novel from the 19th to the 20th century, comparing it with Western literature.
2. Familiar with the poets, novelists and short-story writers of this period.
3. Learns to read and analyse key works from this period.
