In this course, the understanding of the story and the novel that developed from the 19th century to the 20th century will be examined; the characteristics of the novel and the story genres and their development within the scope of Turkish Literature will be discussed in comparison with Western literature.

The aim of this course is to introduce the first examples of stories and novels written in the 19th century and to provide an understanding of the characteristics of novel and story genres.
1. Learns the concepts of the story and novel that developed from the 19th century to the 20th century in comparison with Western literature.
2. Recognizes the novelists and storytellers of this period.
3. Learns to read and analyze important works of this period.
