Within the scope of this internship, it is aimed to learn the recognition of common diseases in the field of brain and neurosurgery, and to learn diagnosis and treatment methods. During the internship, students receive theoretical and practical training on topics such as neurological examination, coma evaluation, cranial and spinal traumas, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, spinal cord diseases and hydrocephalus. Practical applications are carried out in the outpatient clinic and operating room environment, and skills such as patient evaluation, anamnesis, basic examination techniques, patient visits, file preparation and monitoring of surgical processes are acquired. Students receive case-based training by following up patients in outpatient clinics, clinical services and operating rooms under the supervision of faculty members and assistants. In addition, the integration of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice is supported by participation in seminar programs and bedside training.

The purpose of this internship is to provide information on the recognition of common diseases in the field of brain and neurosurgery, the evaluation of medical and surgical treatment options, and post-surgical patient follow-up. Students learn neurological examination techniques and gain the ability to evaluate conditions such as coma, traumatic brain injury, spine and spinal cord trauma. In addition, they learn the diagnosis and treatment processes of diseases such as intracranial hemorrhages, hydrocephalus, and brain and spine tumors, and discover ways to manage complications that may develop after surgical interventions. Theoretical knowledge is integrated into clinical practice with practical applications in outpatient and operating room environments.
1. To learn about medical and surgical treatment methods of diseases in the field of brain and neurosurgery.
2. To learn about the diagnosis and treatment of common neurological diseases and traumatic conditions.
3. To evaluate the consciousness, reflexes and motor functions of patients by performing a neurological examination.
4. To learn about the diagnosis and treatment processes of cranial and spinal traumas.
5. To classify intracranial and spinal tumors and evaluate appropriate treatment options.
6. To learn about hydrocephalus and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) physiology and treatment processes.
7. To learn about the management of cerebrovascular diseases and intracranial hemorrhages.
8. To understand the diagnosis and treatment methods of childhood brain and spinal diseases.
9. To learn about peripheral nerve injuries, neurovascular compression syndromes and functional neurosurgery.
10. To observe practical applications in outpatient and operating room environments and to learn about surgical patient follow-up.
