Within the scope of this internship, the epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis and treatment methods, prognosis, complications and prevention methods of congenital and acquired diseases and trauma-related injuries of bones, cartilage, skeletal muscles, ligaments and joints that constitute the movement system are covered in theoretical courses. Anamnesis taking, communication, file preparation and basic examination training and practice, bedside training and operating room training are provided for patients who apply to the health institution due to any of these problems. Patient case discussion, participation in seminar and article programs are included in the course program. Students observe patients and medical practices under the supervision of faculty members in polyclinic, inpatient service and operating room environments.

It aims to enable students to recognize common congenital and acquired diseases and injuries of bones, cartilage, skeletal muscles, ligaments and joints that form the movement system, to take preventive measures regarding these, to learn the principles of first and emergency aid in traumas, to grasp the principles of basic orthopedic interventions, to learn the indications and methods of conservative and surgical treatment at a basic level, to be informed about possible complications and prognoses, and to establish correct communication with patients at all stages and to provide correct information and guidance about their diseases with up-to-date, evidence-based medical management.
1. Defines fractures and fracture healing, principles of emergency aid in emergency fractures, pediatric fractures, classification of fractures and dislocations, gains the ability to diagnose and treat.
2. Interpret diagnosis and treatment in vertebral column injuries
3. Classify osteoarthritis and its differential diagnosis
4. Learns the approach to congenital, traumatic, inflammatory and neoplastic problems of the hand.
5. Defines and evaluates developmental hip dysplasia.
6. Defines and evaluates sports injuries.
Week 1: THEORY, Introduction to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Internship, General concepts of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, History taking, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Movement System and Neurological Examination Methods
Week 2: Basic Features of Rehabilitation Medicine (Definition, Team and Applications), International Classification of Functionality, Disability and Health (ICF) and patient assessment in this context
Week 3: Stroke and Rehabilitation, Neck pain and treatment, PRACTICAL, Patient Anamnesis and examination
Week 4: Exercise Prescription planning and applications, Planning and applications with physical therapy devices, THEORY, Low Back Pain and treatment
Week 5: Shoulder Pain and Treatment, Elbow Pain and Treatment
Week 6: Spinal Cord Injuries and Rehabilitation, Hand-Wrist Pain and Treatment, Traumatic Brain Injury and Rehabilitation
Week 7: Osteoporosis, PRACTICAL, Patient Anamnesis and examination

Tentative Assesment Methods
