Course Description

To provide the skills of taking anamnesis from patients before surgery, communicating with patients, basic examination training and practice, preparing files, determining patients in need of surgical treatment and taking the necessary precautions to send them to appropriate centers.

Course Objectives

To be informed about the recognition of patients who need surgical treatment, pre-operative preparation, surgical treatment alternatives, and post-operative patient care, as well as complications that may develop, and to learn ways to combat these complications.
Course Outcomes
1. Recognizes the patient who needs emergency surgery
2. Performs emergency treatment for trauma patients and provides appropriate conditions and refers them to a higher center
3. Performs emergency treatment for burn patients and provides appropriate conditions and refers them to a higher center
4. Recognizes and treats fluid electrolyte and acid-base balance disorders
5. Recognizes acute abdomen
6. Knows surgical treatment methods
7. Knows the nutrition of the surgical patient
8. Knows postoperative patient care
9. Recognizes surgical infections
10. Knows the importance and method of obtaining informed consent from the patient before the surgical procedure
11. Steril eldiven giyebilme, cerrahi el yıkama, ameliyata steril bir şekilde katılma yöntemlerini bilir
12. Opens vascular access
13. Applies minor surgical treatment approaches (wound care, suturing, suture removal)
