Course Description
Learning about Mental Health and Diseases and the principles of emergency psychiatric intervention.

Course Objectives
The aim is to identify common Mental Health and Illnesses in society and to learn the correct approach to these illnesses, to learn the principles of rapid intervention in psychiatric emergencies, to learn appropriate approaches in patient-doctor relationships and to develop the skills to cooperate with the treatment team.
Course Outcomes
1. Takes history and performs physical examination of diseases.
2. Performs mental status examination.
3. Recognizes symptoms of psychiatric diseases.
4. Ability to record history and examination findings.
5. Observes ethical principles in communication with patients, relatives and other colleagues, protects patient privacy, knows relevant legal processes.
6. Makes differential diagnosis.
7. Explains drugs used in psychiatry, drug side effects and drug interactions.
8. Informs the patient about recommended drug treatment and follow-up intervals, manages psychiatric diseases and is knowledgeable about preventive medicine.
9. Evaluate the urgency of the clinical picture.
