Course Description
To provide intern doctors with the necessary skills to take medical history from cardiology patients in accordance with the rules, to perform a complete cardiological system examination in addition to all system examinations during physical examination, to diagnose and make differential diagnosis of common heart diseases, to provide appropriate treatment at the primary care level or to refer necessary patients to a higher level health center by providing appropriate referral conditions.

Course Objectives
To train physicians who are well versed in the approach to cardiology patients and preventive health services, who can diagnose and differentially diagnose common heart diseases, who can provide appropriate treatment at the primary level and who can refer necessary patients to a higher level health center by providing appropriate referral conditions, who are respectful of professional ethical rules, who are investigative, questioning and have problem-solving skills, who have perfectly learned anamnesis taking and cardiological examination techniques, and who have acquired the necessary practical skills.
Course Outcomes
1. Takes anamnesis from cardiac patients, performs a complete physical examination covering all organ systems as well as a detailed heart and vascular examination, measures blood pressure
2. Knows the indications and how to perform diagnostic tools used in cardiology (laboratory techniques, imaging methods, other invasive or non-invasive procedures), interprets them, and can communicate or discuss the results with colleagues/patient relatives.
3. Writes clinical observations including disease course and related tests, consultations and vital sign changes in daily patient follow-up
4. Recognizes cardiac emergencies (especially myocardial infarction, pulmonary thromboembolism, aortic dissection, myocarditis), applies emergency treatment/provides necessary guidance.
5. Takes ECG and interprets
6. Knows the legal responsibilities regarding informing patients and their relatives and obtaining their consent.
7. Takes venous blood samples and arterial blood gases.
8. Knows in which diseases and how the defibrillator should be used
9. Communicates effectively with patients and their relatives
10. Respects patient rights by approaching within an ethical framework
11. Effectively communicates with other healthcare professionals, adopts a constructive and problem-solving attitude and works collaboratively as a team
12. Improves himself by accessing online cardiology resources, and follows updates in the field of cardiology.
13. Diagnoses, treats and monitors heart diseases encountered in primary care, and refers to a superior or specialist physician when necessary
