The definition of dialectology, dialectology research in the world and in Turkey, the characteristics of dialect studies, how they are done and how they can be done, the Compilation Dictionary and views on it, archaic elements in Anatolian and Rumelian dialects, and the point that dialectology studies have reached from the Ottoman period to the present will be discussed.
