In this course, evaluations will be made on materials that can serve as sources for the social and cultural life of the period, based on genres and sample texts in Ottoman Divan literature.

To examine examples of evaluating Ottoman cultural history through literary materials.
1. Learns the materials that can be a source for the social and cultural life of the period.
2. Makes applications of Ottoman cultural history through examples.
Week 1: Introduction, specifying responsibilities
Week 2: "Was there criticism in the Ottoman Empire?"
Week 3: "Can we learn about Ottoman art production/consumption through biographies?"
Week 4: Unconventional poems
Week 5: The development of the Ottoman poetic thought by being articulated: nazire, zeyl, etc.
Week 6: Following the political life of the period through the poems of the sultans
Week 7: Perception of books in the Middle Ages, reading culture
Week 8: Fahriye poems
Week 9: Evaluation of theses on Ottoman cultural history
Week 10: Evaluation of theses on Ottoman cultural history
Week 11: Evaluation of theses on Ottoman cultural history
Week 12: Evaluation of theses on Ottoman cultural history
