Turkish Language and Literature Postgraduate Program

After a brief look at the process of change in Turkish poetry from the Tanzimat to the Republic, this course will examine the poetic movements from 1923 to the present, the changing ideological and aesthetic approaches, and the relationship of poetry with the Republican enlightenment throughout the 20th century. The development of contemporary poetry will be critically examined by examining the relationships with literary theories.
