The course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of heat conduction. Analytical solution techniques of the heat conduction equation in different geometries and boundary conditions are presented.
1. Students learn to derive the heat conduction equation in different coordinate systems and to express boundary conditions appropriately.
2. Students gain knowledge about the solution of the heat conduction equation in continuous and discontinuous regimes by appropriate analytical methods.
