Program Information
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was established in 2005. It offers a five-year education program, one preparatory year and four years undergraduate. The department employs five full-time faculty members; two professors, one associate professor, and two doctors, and there is one research assistant.
1. The main purpose of the Turkish Language and Literature Department is to train students to be experts in their field and prepare them for postgraduate education.
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Turkish Language and Literature.
The Turkish Language and Literature program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
Having taken and passed the courses included in the curriculum of undergraduate programs and fulfilled the requirements of the joint education and graduation project specified in the TOBB ETU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training and Examination Regulation.
Students who have completed secondary education and received the required score in the university entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM can enroll in the program within the framework of general rules.
Completing secondary education (high school) and obtaining a sufficient score in the appropriate score category in the national central placement exam is required. If the content of the course taken at another institution is compatible with the content of the course given at TOBB University of Economics and Technology and is approved by the relevant faculty, the student may be exempted from this course.
1. Exams are graded out of 100 points. The weights of midterm and Final grades to be used in calculating the passing grade are determined by taking into account the characteristics of the courses and all of this information is announced to the students at the beginning of the term.2. At the end of the term, the scores students obtain as a result of Midterms, homework and finals are converted into letter grades according to the following catalog: 100-90 : AA 85-90 : BA 80-85 : BB 75-80 : CB 70-75 : CC 65-70 : DC 60-65 : DD 0-60 : FF Exempt : M
It is a full-time 1st education.
Students who have successfully completed the courses in the Turkish Language and Literature department curriculum and completed their cooperative education in the legislation of TOBB University of Economics and Technology are considered to have completed their university education.
Graduates of the department can work as research assistants or lecturers in relevant departments of higher education institutions, as well as in positions such as expertise in various relevant government institutions or as editors or copywriters in the private sector.
Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in graduate programs.
