Program Information

General Information

TOBB ETU Psychology department was established in 2012 and welcome the first students in 2013 based on ÖSYM TM-3 score type. Candidate students can earn full scholarship, 75 % scholarship, %50 scholarship, or 25 % scholarship based on their exam scores. They can also apply without scholarship, the tution fees are presented in the university website. There are five academic personal that are professionals in different fields of psychology. Academic staff works on close relationships, visual perception, learning and attention, neurogenetic. TOBB ETU Psychology program continue to develop and make major contributions to both students and psychology literature.


Program Educational Objectives

1. TOBB ETÜ Psychology Program with its dinamic staff aims to contribute the analysis and solution of the real life problems. At the same time, it aims to transfer the knowledge that are produced and developed in the field to the student and help the students development as a successfull psychologists.


Degree Earned

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.


Level of Degree Earned

The Psychology program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).


Requirements and Rules of the Degree Earned

For graduation the student should a) successfully complete 270 ECTS credits including the senior project and Cooperative Education semesters within the maximum allowable time period b) obtain a GPA of 2. 00/4. 00.


Admission Requirements

Student quota of our undergrad programs are determined by the board of regents after a suggestion by the Senate and subject to the approval of the Higher Education Council (YÖK). Acceptance of candidate students is according to the ÖSYM exam scores. Acceptance of foreign students are carried out according to the rules determined by the Senate. Acceptance of horizontal and vertical transfer students and special/guest/exchange students are regulated by the departmental and faculty administrative boards


Recognition of Prior Learning

A student arriving through the ÖSYM examination or by undergraduate transfer can substitute courses taken in a quitted previous higher education program. The substitution of the courses taken in a previous program, its equivalency and suitability with the courses in the program are evaluated at the Departmental and Arts and Science Faculty Boards. In case of approval of subtitution, the course is substituted with its letter grade.


Examinations, Assessment and Evaluation

Evaluation and assessment methods used for each course are defined according to Article 22 of the Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation (link: http: //mevzuat. basbakanlik. gov. tr/Metin. Aspx?MevzuatKod=8. 5. 15287&MevzuatIliski=0&sourceXmlSearch=). For each course, rules of examination, assessment and grading are presented to the students at the beginning of the semester.


Mode of Instruction

The style of education is Full-Time and Day-Time.


Graduation Requirements

Graduation requirements are defined according to Article 45 of the Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation (link: http: //mevzuat. basbakanlik. gov. tr/Metin. For graduation the student should a) successfully complete the 247 ECTS credits including the senior project and Cooperative Education semesters within the maximum allowable time period b) obtain a GPA of 2. 00/4. 00.


Occupational Profile of Graduates - Employment Opportunities

Graduates that obtain sufficient exam score on KPSS can work in hospitals as a psychologists. They can also work in private companies, foundations and associations.


Access to Further Study

Candidates that successfully finished their Bachelor's program are required to obtain sufficient ALES and English score in order to be accepted to graduate programs. International candidates can also apply with a GRE score instead of ALES.
