Program Information

General Information

The Department of Economics provides training in the framework of a program in which basic economic facts are taught as well as technical skills necessary for competent economic analysis. Our students learn the basic economic phenomena during their education, acquire the technical skills to do theoretical analysis and learn the most advanced econometric methods for data analysis theoretically and practically. They also gain experience by using at least two statistical programs extensively for econometric applications. Through our joint training program, our students acquire work experience in prestigious companies and institutions and graduate by learning a second foreign language other than English.


Program Educational Objectives

1.To train economists who can meet the needs of the public sector in line with the vision and mission of our university and faculty.
2.To educate economists capable of pursuing careers in national and international private sector organizations.
3.To produce graduates who can conduct high-quality academic research in the field of economics through theoretical and applied studies.


Degree Earned

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.


Level of Degree Earned

The Economics program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).


Requirements and Rules of the Degree Earned

To graduate from the department; Having received the total number of courses in the program and being successful. Having completed a minimum of 136 course credits and 257 ECTS credits from these courses. A weighted grade average of 2.00 and above over 4.00 is sought. Admission Requirements

Students are accepted with the TM-1 score from the central placement test.

Examinations, Assessment and Evaluation

Examinations, measurement and evaluation are conducted according to "TOBB Economics and Technology University Undergraduate Education(See TOBB Economy and Technology University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation, http://mevzuat.basbakanlik.gov.tr/Metin.Aspx?MevzuatKod=8.5.15287&MevzuatIliski=0&sourceXmlSearch=). The grade of the student is determined by the relevant teaching staff according to the results of the semester examinations, if any, and according to the results of the final examinations.
