General Information

The Department of International Entrepreneurship started accepting students in 2010 and is the first and only department in Turkey in the field of international entrepreneurship and regional studies. The department's goal is to train a qualified workforce that has grasped the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship, business, and economics and has gained experience in language, education, culture, and business administration in regions of strategic economic and political importance for our country, primarily Russia, the Turkic Republics, and the Middle East. These individuals will be able to work in international companies.During their education, our students learn the target region’s language (Russian or Arabic) in addition to English and gain experience living in those regions. The department focuses on two target regions and is divided into two programs. The first is the program for Russian-speaking countries, and the second is the program for Arabic-speaking countries. The Department of International Entrepreneurship provides a crucial opportunity for the transfer of the entrepreneurship ecosystem from our country to Russia, China, and Middle Eastern countries.In this context, as the first and only department in Turkey in the field of international entrepreneurship and regional studies, the Department of International Entrepreneurship enables students to gain language, education, culture, business administration, and life experiences in regions of strategic economic and political importance for our country, primarily Russia, the Turkic Republics, and the Middle East. Thus, students have the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial potential both in our country and in the target countries.In this department, students receive a highly effective education in business and entrepreneurship. They receive both academic and practical training in entrepreneurship, not only in Turkey but also in the target regions, allowing them to easily find employment or establish businesses in these geographies.


Program Educational Objectives

1. In accordance with the vision and mission of our university and faculty, they work in the public sector, private sector, and civil society.
2. They establish their own businesses as individuals with entrepreneurial potential and a global vision.
3. To train a qualified workforce that is knowledgeable about key commercial regions of the world, has gained experience in the region, is proficient in the target regional language, and is capable of working in international companies and institutions.


Degree Earned

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in International Entrepreneurship.


Level of Degree Earned

The International Entrepreneurship program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).


Requirements and Rules of the Degree Earned

To graduate from the department, students must complete and pass all the courses in the program. They must complete a minimum of 151 course credits and 300 ECTS credits. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 is required. Additionally, students must successfully complete a cooperative education program included in the department curriculum, a one-semester language education program at a foreign university, and a two-semester program covering courses related to the target region at a foreign university. Admission Requirements

As of the 2017-2018 academic year, students are admitted based on the TM-1 score from the central placement exam.


Recognition of Prior Learning

Courses taken in other undergraduate programs may be accepted upon the examination of their documentation and course content in terms of suitability and adequacy by the Faculty Administrative Board conducting the program.


Examinations, Assessment and Evaluation

Examinations, measurement, and evaluation are conducted in accordance with the "TOBB University of Economics and Technology Undergraduate Education and Teaching Regulations" (See: TOBB University of Economics and Technology Undergraduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations).A student's performance in a course is determined by the relevant instructor based on midterm exams, coursework, attendance (if applicable), and final exam results. For each course taken, students are assigned a final grade by the instructor within the time frame specified in the academic calendar.


Mode of Instruction

The type of education is Full-Time, Daytime Education.

Graduates of the International Entrepreneurship Bachelor's program, which allows specialization in various fields, possess leadership and entrepreneurial skills. As innovative and solution-oriented individuals, they have career opportunities in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, finance, energy, information technology, banking, and services, as well as in international companies, public institutions, non-governmental organizations, stock exchanges, and chambers of commerce. Graduates can establish their own businesses or work in existing ventures. They are equipped with teamwork skills, are sensitive to sustainable development goals, and are well-prepared to succeed in competitive business environments. Additionally, those aiming for an academic career can work as researchers or academicians in national and international research and educational institutions.
