Program Information
The Visual Communication Design bachelor's program trains experts capable of producing creative visual communication solutions in all areas of media by focusing on the effective use of visual elements in communication.

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication and Design.
The Visual Communication and Design program is a Bachelor's degree program, classified as Level 6 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
(1) The medium of instruction for the Visual Communication Design Department is Turkish. Students may opt for an English Preparatory Program. The maximum education duration for bachelor's programs is seven years. Students who fulfill all graduation requirements can graduate within a shorter period.(2) The time spent in the foreign language preparatory program is not included in the education period.(3) Students who receive a university suspension are required to count these periods as part of their education duration. These students are also responsible for paying the tuition fees for these periods.
Admission of first-year students to bachelor's programs is carried out based on the results of exams organized by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). The admission of international students is conducted according to the relevant legislation and Senate regulations.(1) Candidates who gain the right to enroll in the university through the university entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM must register personally or through an appointed representative on the dates announced by the Rectorate. Candidates who do not complete their registration within the specified period will lose their rights unless they can provide a valid health report or other valid excuses accepted by the University Administrative Board.(2) Applicants must submit documents specified in the ÖSYM guide, along with proof of payment for the first installment of tuition fees (if applicable), and any other documents required by the university. Original documents or copies approved by the university are accepted. Military and criminal record statuses are handled based on the applicant's declaration.(3) Applicants whose documents are incomplete or falsified, or who have been expelled from any higher education institution for disciplinary reasons, are not eligible for registration. Registrations under such circumstances may be canceled even if completed.(4) The address stated as the residence address in the application form is considered the student's official correspondence address. In case of a change in address, the student must inform the university of the change in writing.(5) Students who complete final registration receive a university ID card. Stickers on the ID cards are renewed annually. A replacement card is issued for lost IDs in exchange for a fee determined by the university.
Students are required to present documentation showing that they have completed studies at a recognized secondary education institution in the country.
Theoretical courses are assessed through tests, written exams, and oral evaluations. In practical courses, project submissions and jury evaluations are conducted.
Formal Education
a) Successfully completing all courses, applications, and cooperative education obligations prescribed by the enrolled bachelor's program within the maximum period defined by the regulations, without having any course exempted by other means.b) Completing the minimum number of credits required by the bachelor's program.c) Achieving a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00.For the Visual Communication Design Bachelor's Program:Students are required to complete all courses, applications, and cooperative education obligations specified in their curriculum, with a minimum of 142 credits and 282 ECTS.
Graduates of the Visual Communication Design program have a wide range of job opportunities due to their creative and technical skills. They can work in advertising agencies, graphic design studios, publishing houses, and web or digital media companies as graphic designers, digital designers, user experience (UX) designers, or user interface (UI) designers.They may also take roles as visual effects designers, animators, or concept artists in the film, television, and animation industries. Additionally, they can contribute as art directors or visual communication strategists in advertising campaigns and marketing strategies.Graduates may work as content creators in media and publishing sectors or develop various projects as freelance designers. Those interested in academic careers can pursue graduate studies (master's and doctoral programs) and contribute to education and research. This versatility provides strong career prospects for graduates in creative industries.
(1) A student attains the status of a second-year student if they have successfully completed courses amounting to at least 70 % of the total credit load of the first two semesters of the academic program and have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.50 or higher, as defined in Article 30 of this Regulation.(2) A student attains the status of a third-year student if they have successfully completed courses amounting to at least 85 % of the total credit load of the first four semesters of the academic program and have a CGPA of 1.65 or higher.(3) A student attains the status of a fourth-year student if they have successfully completed courses amounting to at least 90 % of the total credit load of the first six semesters of the academic program and have a CGPA of no less than 1.80.(4) In determining a student's classification under this article, the credit load calculation considers the total completed courses regardless of which semester they belong to within the academic program.
