The aim of the course is to enable students to comprehend the role of formal conception, aesthetics and communication elements in design processes by examining the relations of design theories in the context of history, criticism and practice. Students are expected to gain the ability to analyse design theories and develop creative design methods based on these theories.
1. Can explain the phenomenon of formal comprehension by analysing the relationship between design and theory.
2. Develop methodological proposals for design processes by analysing the connections between theory, history and criticism.
3. Discuss design and research methods and explain the effects of these methods in practice.
