Course Description
This course examines the relationships between structure, interior space, and furnishings. The content covers the design movements and styles of the 20th century. The primary objective is to provide students with an understanding of how subjective and objective values of historically significant spaces are assessed. In this context, socio-cultural changes in recent history and their influence on spatial formation are discussed.

Course Objectives
The course aims to help students understand and evaluate the impact of 20th-century design movements and styles on interior spaces. Students will learn how the objective and subjective values of historical spaces are shaped and how they evolve in socio-cultural contexts. The course also encourages discussions on the historical development of spatial design processes.
Course Outcomes
1. Define major design movements and styles of the 20th century and explain their impact on interior design.
2. Evaluate the objective and subjective values of historical spaces and understand their socio-cultural significance.
3. Analyze the reflections of socio-cultural changes in the 20th century on interior space design.
4. Assess the relationships between space, structure, and furnishings, and develop theoretical and practical knowledge about the design processes of historical spaces.

Week 4: Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural changes between 1910-1920 and their influence on design disciplines.
Week 5: Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural changes between 1920-1940 and their influence on design disciplines.
Week 6: Midterm Evaluation
