Course Description
This course consists of four parts. The first part of the course will cover the differences between object language and concept language. The second part will focus on the definability of natural language expressions, and the third part will focus on current versions of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis and their criticisms. The last part of the course will provide a critique of empiricist theories that emphasize the differences of languages rather than their similarities.

Course Objectives
In this course, the differences between object language and concept language, the definability of natural language expressions, current versions of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis and the criticisms brought to them will be taught. Empiricist theories emphasizing the differences of languages will be taught, and criticisms on the theories will be discussed.
