Program Information
The program is a master's program with thesis under the Department of Architecture. The language of instruction is 100 % English. It was established in 2012. The executive board consists of the Head of the Department, the Program Coordinator, and the Department Secretary.The program's core research areas include design, theory, education, criticism, new/innovative materials and technologies, traditional materials and construction techniques, history, cultural and industrial heritage. Graduates with a bachelor's degree in the following fields are eligible to apply for the Master of Architecture program:ArchitectureInterior ArchitectureLandscape ArchitectureUrban and Regional PlanningIndustrial DesignEngineeringSocial SciencesIn cases deemed necessary, the program may require a scientific preparation year for applicants.
1. The program aims to develop students' critical thinking and academic research skills by addressing the discipline of architecture through its theoretical, practical, and educational dimensions. It seeks to encourage innovative ideas and original research.
2. The program aims to approach the natural and built environment holistically, considering its ecological, human, economic, historical, social, and cultural components. It seeks to equip students with the ability to generate and share knowledge through interdisciplinary collaborations for the documentation, preservation, enhancement, and qualitative development of these environments.
3. The program aims to train individuals capable of analyzing various aspects of architectural production—including design, technology, construction, and theory—at different scales. Additionally, it encourages students to actively participate in the planning and execution of national and international research and development projects.
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Master's Degree in Architecture.
The Architecture program is a Master's degree program, classified as Level 7 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
To be eligible for a master’s degree, students must fulfill the requirements specified in Article 18 of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and meet the following graduation criteria:a) Successfully complete all coursework and thesis requirements of the enrolled graduate program within the prescribed periods and the maximum duration defined by the regulations and guidelines.b) Complete the minimum credit requirements of the graduate program (21 local credits - 120 ECTS).c) Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.d) Publish an academic work in accordance with the publication requirements set by the Graduate School of Science and Engineering (FBE).e) Prepare a master’s thesis and successfully defend it before a jury.
1. Admission to the graduate program is conducted in accordance with Article 9 of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.
The recognition of prior learning is conducted in accordance with Article 12 of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.
Assessment and evaluation are conducted in accordance with Article 33 of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, which governs examinations. The evaluation process follows the assessment methods explicitly stated in the course information forms distributed to students at the beginning of the semester. The final grades are determined based on the criteria and weightings specified in these forms and are announced accordingly.

Graduates can pursue careers in all fields related to the architectural profession in both the public and private sectors. Additionally, they may choose to continue their academic studies.
Students who meet the application and admission requirements specified in the relevant regulations, guidelines, and/or announcements of the applied program may, upon acceptance, pursue a doctoral program in this field or in other fields that accept graduates from this discipline.
