Program Information
The TOBB-ETÜ Graduate School of Social Sciences Public Law Master's Program commenced education in the 2019-2020 academic year. Including the 2024-2025 academic year, a total of 33 students have enrolled, and the number of graduates is 11. The department has 19 faculty members and 10 research assistants. Courses are conducted within the framework of academic autonomy by faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. The program includes one compulsory course and supports students' specialization interests with a broad pool of elective courses. In the annual Academic Board meeting, courses for the respective academic year are determined by considering current developments, faculty recommendations, and student feedback. Additionally, courses offered in other master's programs within the Graduate School of Social Sciences may be taken with the approval of the advisor. Education at TOBB-ETÜ Graduate School of Social Sciences is structured into three terms: fall, spring, and summer.
1. The aim is to train academicians, experts, and practitioners with advanced reasoning skills, refined knowledge in public law, and strong analytical abilities; individuals who can deeply comprehend the social, economic, political, historical, and philosophical background of law; who can evaluate universal legal principles alongside the spirit of the times; who are well-versed in legal and political developments at both national and international levels; and who can generate solutions to issues in the field of public law.
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Master's Degree in Public Law.
The Public Law program is a Master's degree program, classified as Level 7 in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ).
Minimum total number of credits required to obtain a Master's degree with thesis: 21, ECTS: 63 + 8 + 60. Compulsory courses to be taken: 1 course. Elective courses to be taken: 6 courses. These courses include seminar and master thesis.Minimum total number of credits required to obtain a non-thesis MA degree: 30, ECTS: 90 Compulsory courses to be taken: 1 course. Required elective courses: 9 courses. Among these courses, there is also a semester project, although it does not have a credit.

Candidates who will apply to Public Law Master's Programs must have a Bachelor's Degree in Law.
There are three types of exams: midterm, general exam and make-up exam. Midterm exams can be held during the semester. Projects, homework, laboratories, workshops and similar studies can also be substituted for midterm exams. Students who fulfill the attendance requirement take the general exam on the day and time specified at the end of the semester. In order to be successful in a course in the master's program, a minimum grade of CC is required. The type of education is Full-Time Primary Education. Classes are conducted face-to-face in the classroom and in the form of active education.
For the Master's Program in Public Law with Thesis, it is necessary to successfully complete the required courses, write a seminar and a master's thesis and defend it successfully.For the Public Law Non-Thesis Master's Program, it is necessary to successfully complete the required courses and write a term project.
Graduates of TOBB ETU SBE Master's Program in Public Law achieve significant success in their academic and professional careers by specializing in various fields of law. According to the data of the graduate success atlas on the yokatlas.yok.gov.tr website, graduates succeed in the Judicial Judicial Examination and KPSS, and assume positions in public institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the private sector in accordance with their areas of expertise, as well as professions that only law school graduates can do, such as judgeship, prosecution, attorneyship and notary public. Graduates of TOBB ETU SBE Master's Program in Public Law are accepted to doctoral programs in various universities in Turkey and in many countries around the world.
Since TOBB-ETU SBE does not have a Doctorate Program in Public Law, it is not possible to enter data about the doctoral program, which is a higher degree.
