The aim of the course is to provide students with an awareness of the process of selecting and developing materials for interior design by transferring future-oriented approaches to the selection of materials for the implementation of the spaces they design in the conceptual context.
1. Develops a perspective focused on sustainability and innovation by applying the New European Bauhaus approach and principles in interior design.
2. Analyzes the relationship between space design and material design and produces sustainable and creative solutions.
3. Develops sustainable material prototypes for interior design in interdisciplinary collaboration and experiences design processes.
4. Researches future trends in material and space design and integrates this information into their projects.
Week 1: Course Description Course Rules and Scope
Week 2: Understanding the New European Bauhaus Approach and Principles, Discussing the New European Bauhaus Educational Goals|COURSE NEB
Week 3: Examining New European Bauhaus Interdisciplinary Project Examples with Students, Discussion of Recommendations
Week 4: Discussing the relationship between building materials used in interior architecture and sustainability, In-class Workshop I
Week 5: Examination of the relationship between space design and material design through space examples, In-class Workshop II
Week 6: I. MID-TERM EVALUATION Submission, Investigation of future-oriented material designs, Examining and discussing the workshops held in Europe in this context
Week 7: Students are divided into groups and asked to do research on the examples examined in the previous lesson.
Week 8: Listening to the reasons for the selection of the material categories selected by the groups, Starting in-class WORKSHOP III activities
Week 9: WORKSHOP III phase I | Production of prototypes
Week 10: WORKSHOP III phase II | Production of prototypes and development of usage proposals
Week 11: WORKSHOP III phase III| Final finalization and reporting of the developed prototypes
