After briefly mentioning the historical geography and climate characteristics of the Mediterranean, the land and sea transportation, cities, economy and demographic structure of the Mediterranean throughout history will be examined from the perspective of socio-economic history. In this context, a chronological history of the political and military struggles for Mediterranean dominance will be told. The fact that the Mediterranean, the most important center of world history, gave way to the Atlantic from the 17th century onwards is among the issues to be evaluated.
