This course examines specific types of offenses defined in the Criminal Code, analyzing their elements, modes of commission, and causal factors within the framework of general crime theory. Each offense type is evaluated in light of aggravating and mitigating circumstances as prescribed by the law, while also providing insights into sanction theory concerning these offenses.

This course aims to provide a detailed analysis of offenses regulated under the special provisions of the Turkish Penal Code. Crimes against individuals, society, and the state will be examined, focusing on their elements, aggravated forms, and sanctions. Students will develop the ability to systematically analyze crime types, reinforcing theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Additionally, contemporary judicial decisions and comparative law perspectives will be assessed to enhance students’ critical thinking skills.
1. To provide students with a solid understanding of the general theory of special criminal law, including fundamental concepts and principles.
2. To develop students’ ability to analyze specific crime types using the theoretical framework of general provisions of criminal law.
3. To ensure students identify the legal values protected by criminal norms under the special provisions of the Turkish Penal Code.
4. To equip students with the ability to determine which acts are prohibited or mandated by law and to break these acts down into their constituent elements.
5. To enable students to compare the effectiveness of criminal sanctions and enforcement mechanisms in practice.
6. To distinguish between different types of offenses that protect the same legal interest.
7. To foster students’ ability to legally classify complex criminal cases and crimes committed in society.
8. To critically evaluate doctrinal and practical differences in criminal law interpretations.
9. To identify gaps, errors, and misapplications in legislation, proposing solutions for improvement.

Week 2: Crimes Against Individuals: Offenses Against Life (Intentional Homicide and Negligent Homicide).
Week 3: Offenses Against Bodily Integrity (Intentional Injury and Negligent Injury).
Week 4: Offenses Against Sexual Integrity (Sexual Assault).
Week 5: Offenses Against Sexual Integrity (Sexual Abuse of Children, Sexual Intercourse with a Minor, Sexual Harassment).
Week 6: Offenses Against Liberty (Threat, Blackmail, and Coercion).
Week 7: Offenses Against Liberty (Deprivation of Liberty, Violation of the Inviolability of the Home).
Week 8: Offenses Against Honor (Defamation).
Week 9: Offenses Against Property (Theft, Robbery, and Damage to Property).
Week 10: Offenses Against Property (Breach of Trust and Fraud).
Week 11: Offenses Against Public Trust (Forgery of Documents).
Week 12: Offenses Against the Reliability of Public Administration (Embezzlement, Bribery, Extortion, and Abuse of Office).
