This course aims to provide fundamental knowledge on the legal dimension of European integration, focusing on the establishment, structure, functioning, and legal order of the European Union (EU). While European integration was initially created as an economic union, it has gradually evolved into a political and legal structure, creating its own legal system. In this context, the course will examine the sources of EU law, its institutions, decision-making processes, and the relationship between member states' national legal systems. The role of law in the European integration process and the similarities between the EU's legal structure and national constitutions will also be discussed. Throughout the course, the decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the impact of EU law on member states will be analyzed, helping students understand the dynamic structure of European integration.
