Course Description
In this course, the basic concepts of cyber law, cyber crimes regulated in the Turkish Penal Code and other laws, internet access regulations and digital evidence within the scope of the Law on Regulation of Publications Made in the Internet Environment and Combating Crimes Committed through These Publications are examined.

Course Objectives
It is the examination of crimes committed by using information systems or using information systems as a purpose in Turkish criminal law. The course examines cyber crimes and the evidence to be used to prove the crimes in question within the scope of the general theory of crime.
Course Outcomes
1. Knows the basic concepts of information technology law.
2. Knows and distinguishes information technology crimes included in the Turkish Penal Code.
3. Knows and distinguishes information technology crimes included in the Electronic Signature Law.
4. Knows and distinguishes information technology crimes included in the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works.
5. Knows the actors and duties of the Internet.
6. Knows the methods of blocking access.
7. Knows the procedures and principles in blocking access.
8. Knows the procedures and principles regarding search, seizure and copying in information systems.
Tentative Course Plan
Week 1: Basic concepts of information technology law,
Week 2: Information Technology Crimes in the Turkish Penal Code, Historical Development, Crime of Unlawful Access to the System (TCK Art. 243),
Week 3: Crime of Blocking, Disrupting the System, Destroying or Changing Data (TCK Art. 244),
Week 4: Crime of Misuse of Bank or Credit Cards (TCK Art. 245), Crime of Theft through Information Systems (TCK Art. 142),
Week 5: Crimes in the Electronic Signature Law - Electronic Signature Infrastructure and Basic Concepts,
Week 6: Crimes in the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works
Week 7: Internet subjects and their responsibilities within the scope of the Law No. 5651 on Crimes Committed in the Internet Environment and Combating These Crimes
Week 8: Measures to block access and methods of blocking access
Week 9: Concept and characteristics of digital evidence
Week 10: Methodologies and stages of computer forensics, obtaining, examining and reporting digital evidence
Week 11: Search, copy and seizure measures in computers, computer programs and files in Turkish law,
Week 12: Search, copy and seizure measures in computers, computer programs and files in Turkish law,
